This is the last of the Spring issues of the Bay News (September, October and November). The December issue takes us into Summer (December, January and February). We are fast approaching Christmas (I know this to be true because I’ve just been shopping and all the store decorations are up) and the Club has a full calendar of events and functions. Check out in particular page 7 of the Bay News where you’ll find details of the Kids’ Christmas Party, the Members’ Christmas Party, Marina Christmas Party, Spin the Ham Wheel information, Boxing Day ‘watch the Sydney to Hobart yacht race on the big screen’ (sponsored by Wild Oats), and the New Year’s Eve Party.

Also around Christmas/New Year the MBBC will play host to the National 420 Titles Regatta from 27 December 2011 through to 3 January 2012. Followed closely by the Redcliffe Peninsula Game & Sportfish Club annual 8kg Billfish Challenge Tournament held over the 2012 Australia Day weekend.

During all of the above we have our usual weekly raffles, member draws, regular club functions, great restaurant and bar deals and live entertainment on Fridays and Sundays.

Hi everyone

Well, it’s still Spring, not that you’d know it. On the morning of the Fairway/Pearl Challenge yacht races it seemed that thunderstorms, rain and cold might meet the fleet. But not to worry, it all cleared away and went from the sublime to the ridiculous – almost no wind, and many of the yachts had to give up and motor home in the early hours on Sunday. In spite of it all, a successful event and you will find the results on pages 7 and 18 of the October issue of the Bay News.

This month we have an article sent in by one of our MBBC members which a lot of people may find interesting. And don’t forget, any member who believes they have something of interest that others may like to read about, please contact the Editor.

This month’s Bay News, as usual, is full of happenings at the Club – entertainment, section reports, Commodore’s report, promotions and restaurant/bar information. Lunchtimes are gaining popularity, especially now that the weather is warming up a bit and what can be better than either enjoying your meal in air conditioned comfort inside the restaurant or bar, or taking in the ‘al fresco’ environment on the deck. And a real plus for our Club is parking . . no problem, unless of course there is a big event taking place and the public car park next to the Clubhouse is taken up.
